FAQ

What is your studio like?

Studio sessions take place at my in-home studio in Media, where I repurpose my sunroom and transform it into a studio with ample natural light, which is ideal for these sessions.

I have a collection of outfits and accessories that are available to you, including, hand-made hats, bonnets, & headbands, organic natural fiber knits and textures … and an assortment of baskets, bowls and other adorable props. I believe that babies are naturally beautiful and therefore I tend to not “over-style” and utilize too many props in an effort to achieve my more natural and timeless style. My goal is to make sure your baby is the star of the image, and all the props and accessories compliment the setup and highlight your baby.

How do I schedule a newborn session when I don't know when my baby will be born?

When you book your session in advance, I take note of your due date and guarantee availability on the client roster for your newborn session in that timeframe. Babies have a mind of their own, and they tend to arrive whenever they feel like it, so whether your newborn arrives before, on, or after your estimated due date, we will make room for you and your newborn in our studio schedule. Once baby arrives, you contact me and we schedule your portrait session. Last-minute bookings are always accepted if we have room, but it is highly encouraged to book early to ensure we save a spot for you.

How do I book a session?

I’m glad you asked! The best way is to use the Contact form on our website. You can also email us at hello@allisongoldphotography.com.
We will then proceed with scheduling your session and go over the session details, packages, complete the contract and start session planning. To hold your session date or newborn availability, you must pay the retainer which serves as a booking deposit.

When is the best time to photograph my newborn?

Newborn babies are ideal to photograph between 5 & 13 days old, when they are still very flexible and womb-like and spend most of their time sleeping. If for some reason your baby is unable to be photographed during this time frame, don’t worry, with the exception of possibly a few poses, we will still be able to capture many beautiful and special images of your baby.

Do you provide any props for the session?

Absolutely! The studio is well-equipped with everything that we will need for newborn and milestone sessions.

I also have an extensive collection outfits that photograph beautifully in sizes that range from newborn - 3T.

Though there is nothing that you need to bring for your baby, if there is something special you’d like to incorporate into the session, just let us know.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, I require a deposit of at least $100. Upon payment, I will reserve the agreed upon time and date exclusively for the you.
